I thought about the last time I wrote and entry and was totally shocked that it has been a LONG time...sorry for those of you who keep checking. Of course, if you keep checking maybe you ought to think about a new favorite past time or a hobby... ;)
For the last couple of weeks Spencer, Sara and Ashley have been living with you - between graduating from BYU and starting grad school at UNLV they needed a place to crash. It was SO much fun having them here. We were sad to help them move to Henderson, Nevada last weekend, but they really need to get on with their little family's life...
The weather here has been GREAT! No snow, a little rain and cool temperatures at night, but the days have been sunny and warm. We're happy to have the snow gone but now that I've written this we'll get snow this week - that would just be my luck.
Daniel is officially an official member of the Utah National Guard. Last week was his first drill down in the St. George. He'll be off to Fort Jackson, South Carolina in mid-July and then off to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for advanced training. Daniel will train to be a heavy equipment mechanic, at least until he returns to Utah and goes to Southern Utah University and starts the ROTC program. Once he's commissioned an officer when he graduates he won't return to the mechanic job but will be reassigned and retrained in a new job - so, he's going to get dirty and have fun learning something that might be useful later. Of course, I was hoping he learn to blow things up but I guess unless you're a terrorist those skills in civilian life aren't really in high demand.
