So we woke up the other morning to the images you see in the photos. It had been pretty cold during the day, and especially evening, and we got a very gentle reminder that winter is getting close. The snow lasted the day, most of it melting pretty quickly, but still - I haven't been able to use my new snow blower since I bought it last winter.
Daniel is getting ready to graduate from his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He loves the training he's getting, but he's really getting more than tired with stupid soldiers. Two have already been "chaptered out" - in other words their actions were serious enough to kick them out of the Army and that doesn't include the soldiers that were fired while still in Basic Training. Anyways, Daniel is about ready to graduate from AIT and should be home about Dec. 3. It'll be very nice to have him home! With the help of Alan and Alexis we were able to get him registered for classes at Southern Utah University for Spring so he'll have very little down time before classes start again in January.
Speaking of SUU - we've had a couple of small gatherings at our home for kids at our home. We'd love to have the entire ward over but we just don't have room for all of them. We have 161 kids in the ward, about 85% are active and a majority of this will show up for ward events. We have to have small groups at a time to make sure we get to see every one. So far we've had Ward Council and a Family Home Evening group over. We have a few more groups that we'll have over before school is over in May.
