Everyday we go see the progress on the house we are totally blown away by how things are taking shape. Shem, our builder - and the best builder in Utah by the way - thinks we'll be in by January 21!! As you can see by the photo the exterior is all but done. A little more stone work to finish up and the installation of the wrought iron rail around the front porch and the back decks and it's finished.
Inside is getting close too. The granite is supposed to be done by the end of this weekend, the cabinets will be finished by Monday, then the plumber can come in and install all the plumbing fixtures; the electricians finish up the last few lights and switches, the painters do some touch ups then we're ready for the garage doors and carpet. It sounds like a lot of work, but all the stone work only took 3 days to install. The lower cabinets went in in about a day and a half, so the subcontractors are really good at working fast!
The sad part about moving in is leaving our ward. The Cedar 19th Ward has been so friendly to our family that we're really going to miss everyone we've come to know. Don't misunderstand, we're looking forward to our new ward, the Kanarraville Ward, because we've heard how friendly they are - so...as sad as it is it really isn't too sad.
