We were very excited to talk to David on Christmas Eve. Because we're in a rental we couldn't see having a landline installed at the house so we've been using our cell phones for everything. The trouble is...landlines are MUCH easier to make international calls from and to talk to our kids who are missionaries. Once we figured out telephone numbers, calling card PINS and such we had a very nice conversation with David.
Spencer, Sara and Ashley were on their way to our house from Provo but we managed to put two cell phones together so David could talk to them - not very effective, a few technical difficulties, but still, a lot of fun!
Once the phone call was over we felt a little empty, but loved talking to David! He's doing well - more updates will be included on the David's Mission blog - the link is on the right column of our family blog.
The next day we were able to have every other family member over to our house for Christmas. It was Ashley's first Christmas, the newlyweds first Christmas, our first Christmas in Utah, and the first Christmas in probably 15 years I didn't have to work on at least ONE of those days. We had a BLAST! We celebrated Sara's birthday while we were at it...see if you can spot the errors made that could also be considered a first for Susan.
