Busy Week in the Grimm Household!

On December 12, 2009 Alan and Alexis were married for time and all eternity in the Las Vegas Temple!!! As stressful as weddings are, we had a great time and they both looked so happy! After the wedding reception the two newlyweds headed off for a week long cruise to Mexico! We learned the day after they left Long Beach that David was being transferred to Cabo San Lucas the day after they leave Mexico....some timing, eh?

Work on our home has been delayed a bit - it seems that concrete, stucco, masonry, and even paint will freeze when it gets as cold as it got. With nearly 2 feet of snow it also makes a bit tough to get in and out. At about 7AM one morning Eric was on his way down to St. George to do some work for the school district and the thermometer in the truck showed -17 degrees....that's right MINUS 17 degrees. It took a few days for the electric connection to be completed so the heaters could be turned on - at least that way the painters and interior finishers could work. Once it warmed up inside we saw LOTS of work being done.

So far the paint is finished, the interior shelving is in, the tile floors will be grouted on Monday, and once it warmed up the stucco started going up. This next week the daytime temperatures are supposed to be in the lower 40's so the exterior should be finished in the next week or so.

Because of the snowy weather our anticipated Christmas move in was delayed a bit. We're hoping to move shortly after New Years and can't wait! The entire family will be together for Christmas at our small little rental in Cedar City, but we're really looking forward to being together none the less. The only person that will be missing will be David - it's sad that he'll be gone but he loves what he's doing and that's what's important. Check out David's missionary blog link and you'll see what we mean.

in the meantime - Merry Christmas!!
